Cold air is a system, not a recharge
An air conditioning system that's blowing warm is usually low on refrigerant because something is letting the refrigerant out, and refilling it without finding the leak means you're back in the same seat by July. We run a full system diagnostic and performance check first: pressures, the compressor, the condenser and evaporator, the belts and hoses that drive the whole loop, and the cabin air filter that decides how that cold air actually smells once it reaches you. Once we know what's actually failing, whether it's a slow leak at a fitting, a compressor on its way out, or a condenser with a hole in it, we tell you which one it is before we touch the system, not after. A car that's air conditioning was fine last September and dead this June almost always lost its charge slowly over the winter, one small leak at a time, which is exactly the kind of fault a quick top-up hides rather than fixes.
What we check before we recharge anything
Refrigerant leak detection, compressor condition, condenser and evaporator service, and the belts and hoses that keep the compressor turning. If the fix is a recharge and nothing else, that's what you'll be quoted for. If it's a part, you'll see it in writing first, and we'll walk you through why a recharge alone wouldn't have held. We'll also check the cabin air filter while the dash is open, since a clogged one can make a perfectly good system feel weak even when the refrigerant side is fine.

Compressor replacement, condenser and evaporator service, and the belts and hoses that support them all carry the standard 2-year, 24,000-mile warranty on parts and labor, whichever comes first. It's the same warranty on an A/C repair as on a brake job or a transmission, because the shop doesn't shorten the promise just because the part is smaller. A compressor that fails a year after we replace it costs the shop money to make right, not you, and that's the whole point of putting a number on the warranty instead of just a word like "guaranteed."
