Tires & Wheel Alignment
Tire sales, rotation and balancing, plus a computerized four-wheel alignment, on most makes and models. We check the steering and suspension while the wheels are already off the ground.
Why the alignment gets checked with the tires
A car can be pulling to one side for months before an owner brings it in, and by then the tire wear is already uneven, usually feathered on the edge of the tread or worn faster on one front corner than the other. We put the vehicle on the alignment rack, measure camber, caster and toe against the manufacturer's spec, and show you the printout before we touch anything. If the numbers are off, we correct them. If they're in spec and the wear is coming from something else, a worn tie rod end or a bent component, we tell you that instead of adjusting a system that wasn't the problem.

We stock and sell tires, but the tire itself is the easy half of the job. Rotation and balancing on a schedule is what keeps a good set of tires wearing evenly instead of cupping or scalloping early, and we do both as part of a normal tire visit, not as an upsell. When it's time for a new set, we walk through the sizes and load ratings that actually fit the vehicle and how it's driven, rather than pointing at whatever's on the shelf.

Reading tire wear before it becomes a complaint
Most drivers notice a tire problem the same way: the car starts pulling, or the cabin gets loud on the highway, or a tire looks bald on one edge in the driveway. By that point the wear pattern has usually already told the story. Wear on the inside edge of both front tires points toward negative camber or excess toe-in. Wear on just one front tire, especially paired with a car that drifts toward that side on a flat road, usually means the alignment shifted after hitting a pothole or a curb, which happens more often on Arkansas back roads than most people think about until it's their car.
Cupping, a scalloped pattern around the tread rather than a straight edge, points somewhere else again, usually a worn shock or strut that's letting the tire bounce instead of stay flat against the road. That's a suspension finding, not an alignment finding, and it's exactly the kind of thing we catch because the vehicle is already up on the rack for the alignment check. We'd rather tell you the real cause than sell an alignment on a car that needs a shock instead.
We rotate tires front to back and side to side depending on the drivetrain, because a front-wheel-drive car wears its front tires faster than an all-wheel-drive vehicle does, and the rotation pattern that's right for one is wrong for the other. Balancing gets checked at the same visit. A tire that's out of balance shows up as a vibration in the wheel or the seat at a specific speed, usually somewhere between 50 and 70 miles an hour, and it gets worse, not better, the longer it's ignored.

A wheel alignment measures angles, but the parts that hold those angles in place are steering components: tie rod ends, ball joints, control arm bushings. If one of those is worn, an alignment will read correctly on the rack and then drift out of spec again within a few thousand miles, because the part that's supposed to hold the setting can't. We inspect the steering linkage as part of the alignment check for that reason, not as a separate charge tacked on afterward.
This matters more on gravel and back roads than on a smooth highway, and a lot of Saline County driving is exactly that mix. A tie rod end with a little play in it doesn't announce itself with a warning light. It shows up as a slight wander in the steering wheel at speed, or a clunk over a bump that wasn't there a year ago. We'd rather find that on the rack, on a scheduled visit, than have it show up on the side of the road.
